FAQ
Common questions
Do we need ISO/IEC 42001 certification?
Not necessarily. Most organisations with one to three AI systems start with the AI Governance Sprint (Path A), which gives you governance aligned with ISO/IEC 42001 and the Guidance for AI Adoption without certification. Consider Path B when a customer or tender asks about certification, you add a third AI system or a system becomes high risk, or you sell AI into the EU or a regulated sector. CentryAI does not certify: Path C is delivered alongside your accredited certification body.
What is the Privacy Act automated decisions duty?
From 10 December 2026, privacy policies must describe automated decisions that could significantly affect people (Privacy Act, APPs 1.7 to 1.9). Our ADM Readiness Check finds those decisions and drafts the privacy policy wording in 1 to 2 weeks.
What does the AI Governance Sprint include?
For up to three AI systems, over 2 to 4 weeks: your AI Register and scope, AI Policy and Acceptable Use Policy, risk register and treatment plan, impact and privacy assessments, ADM check and supplier assessments, monitoring and incident plans, the 12 core ISO/IEC 42001 controls, and a report with a customer-ready summary.
How much does it cost?
Fees are confirmed after a 30-minute discovery call, once we know which path fits, how many AI systems are in scope and their risk tier.
Who delivers the work?
CentryAI and accredited partners, using one tested method so results are consistent whoever runs the assessment.
Do you provide legal advice?
No. Our work is a governance assessment, not legal advice or a certification audit. Where a question needs a legal view, such as a borderline automated decision, we flag it for your legal adviser.
What happens after a Sprint?
We book your first review (3 months for high-tier AI systems, 6 months otherwise), offer implementation support for the actions in your roadmap, and recommend moving to Path B when your customers, systems or markets require it.
How long does the free assessment take?
About 10 minutes online. You get an instant readiness score, your priority gaps, a suggested path and a downloadable PDF report, and we email you a copy of your results.
